Pennsylvania Bear Exhibit

Thank you to the Pennsylvania Game Commission, especially Wildlife Conservation Officers Crimi and Gorko. These two officers brought a nuisance bear that was trapped the same morning to the Trout Derby. Giving the kids a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see how they process a bear for release in another area. They explained the Game Commission's bear study program to the kids. They tranquilize the bear so they can take chest measurements and use a chart to estimate the bear's weight. The bear received an ear tag and a tattoo on its inner lip for identification. All information is entered into the PA Game Commission Biologist records. The kids were allowed a picture with the bear, while she was kept in the cool shade. The bear was put into the trap and transported to its new home. Again, Thank You to Officers Crimi and Gorko from  NBTDA.
