The North Branch Trout Derby Association advances the common good by promoting and encouraging outdoor recreation for children and young adults and broadening their horizons through informal education of our natural environment.

Registration is required for all of our events.

Upon entering, you can fill out a Registration/Waiver form at the Registration table.
NBTDA requires a Registration/Waiver for each child to receive a free ice cream ticket and be eligible to receive earned prizes.

SATURDAY, MAY 17TH, 2025
North Branch Kids Trout Derby
Our 2025 Trout Derby will be held at Windy Valley Rd, Forkston, PA 18629
The event will feature over 1,000 stocked trout ranging from 11 inches to 25 inches. Another 800 fish will be stocked in the pond in addition to any fish from last year’s event. There will be 200 stocked trout in the South Branch of the Mehoopany Creek for the children. We provide bait and have spare fishing gear. There is an official Measure and Weighing station for prizes. A fish cleaning station,where we will clean your fish for you!
Children in five age groups (1-4, 5-7, 8-10, 11-12, 13-16) will fish, and be awarded prizes by largest fish caught in their age group. FIshing start time time is 10 a.m.
Other activities: Obstacle Course, Dunk Tank, 4-H Animals, Diary Princess, Pa Game Commission Exhibit, Face Painting, Endless Mountains Primitive Outdoorsmen, Mehoopany Ambulance Crew, 1961 Ice Cream Truck.
Sale: Hats, Shirts, White Raffle tickets, Food, Drink.
Raffle Prizes: Gun, Bacon, Chinese, Basket.

North Branch Veteran & Special Needs Trout Derby
Our 2025 Trout Derby will be held at Windy Valley Rd, Forkston, PA 18629
Join the North Branch Trout Derby Association for this amazing and fun event!
This day is about you! We provide food and drinks for the participant and their family, fishing guides to help you, and a fish cleaning station.
Fishing starts at 10 a.m.
Giveaways include: T-shirts, Assorted Fishing Gear, 1961 Ice Cream Truck.

FIRST OR SECOND SATURDAY OCTOBER 2025
North Branch Youth Pheasant Hunt
The North Branch Youth Pheasant Hunt is for youth 12 to 16 who have passed the Hunter
Safety Course.
Each youth must register through the Pennsylvania Game Commission website to have the
opportunity to hunt pheasants with their mentor and the help of a hunting guide and dog(s).
We also provide a trap range for the youths to sharpen their shooting skills.
Lunch is provided for all attendees and a Free raffle for a shotgun cap of the day's activities.
The Youth Hunt is scheduled in October; either the first or second Saturday of the month.
Youth hunters are not required to have a PA. hunting license or the pheasant stamp for this
hunt.
